SITE DIRECTOR/COORDINATOR (PT)

Seeking a part-time site director for our START after school program. The successful candidate will have the capacity to engage and interact with children in a nurturing manner, the ability to create and facilitate daily lessons, and exhibit a desire to work as part of a team. Must be organized and have good time management skills. Must have reliable transportation or a means to get to place of employment daily and on time. You will train under the current site directors to prepare for the 2014 - 2015 school year. Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.

Requirements:

GROUP LEADERS (PT)

KID ZONE COORDINATOR (PT)

Kid Zone is a safe, supervised play environment for children of YMCA members while parent(s) or guardian is in the facility. Children range from 6 weeks to 9 years old. The coordinator is responsible for department operations including staffing, programming and reporting. Must have experience in children's play, arts and crafts, and group activities and have the ability to communicate well wtih members of the association, other staff and general public.

  • A bachelor's degree in elementary education or recreation, awarded by a regionally accredited college or university;

KINDERGARTEN ASSOCIATE TEACHER (PT)

Assistant teacher needed for our wrap-around kindergarten program. You will work with a lead teacher to implement curriculum, interact with children as well as interact with parents to develop strong family relationships.

This is a leadership position at camp and the candidate will be responsible for the supervision of program area specialists, specialty camp staff, and assisting in the supervision of day camp staff. YMCA CAMP FOSS SENIOR COUNSELORS

Senior counselors are responsible for assisting with the day to day operation of their cabin group. They will ensure the campers are safe, engaged, and having fun in the camp setting. They will work in both a cabin and a program area.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • A minimum of two years experience working with youth
  • A minimum of two years experience in an overnight camp

Basic job expectations:

  • Serve as a cabin counselor for 8 to 12 campers with the assistance of the Senior Counselor.
  • Work as a part of the rec field, waterfront or hobbies staff.
  • Ensure campers are learning how tom ake good decisions, put others first, make friends, build confidence, and practice the core values of the YMCA.

This position is at an all girls' overnight camp. Employee is expected to live on site for eight weeks beginning June 15, 2014. YMCA CAMP FOSS JUNIOR COUNSELORS

Junior counselors are responsible for assisting with the day to day operation of their cabin group. They will ensure that campers are safe, engaged, and having fun in the camp setting. They will work in both a cabin and program area.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • A minimum of two years experience working with youth
  • A minimum of two years experience in an overnight camp
  • Must hold or be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
  • Must be willing to live on site for eight weeks.

Successful candidates will show expertise in the following core competencies:
