TEEN CENTER ASSISTANT (PT)

Under the direct supervision of the Teen Center Coordinator, the teen center assistant is responsible for the supervision of teens in the after school drop-in teen center three afternoons per week. The teen center assistant is responsible for engaging students in activities in other parts of the YMCA including the gym, pool, and fitness area. May also serve as a bus monitor daily, taking attendance and assisting the driver with any issues that may arise. Teen center assistant will plan and execute creative programming and recreational activities.

Qualifications: Experience working with teens in a recreational environment; Commitment to working with the middle school-high school age group and at risk youth is critical; Capacity to plan and function independently in a group setting and build strong relationships with teens and families; Must have the ability to work with a variety of youth  and diverse populations; Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Salary range is $8.50 - $10 per hour.

ASSOCIATE TEACHERS (PT)

Currently seeking an associate teacher who will serve as a responsible individual for programming aspects for the safety and care of participants within the designated classrooms. Candidate will work in conjunction with the Lead Classroom Teacher for the enhancement of the YMCA Child Development Center.

Requirements: Must meet minimum licensing standards for Associate Teacher as defined by State of NH Bureau of Child Care Licensing. Must have knowledge of developmental needs and behavior management techniques effective with preschool children, experience with curriculum implementation, strong interpersonal communication skills, project a positive, energetic, and professional image, have the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form. First Aid and CPR certifications are preferred and must be obtained within 60 days of employment. All staff must take Child Abuse Prevention Training within 90 days of employment.

This is a part time position, 11:45 - 3:15 pm Monday - Friday. Salary range is $8.00 - $10.00 per hour.

GROUP LEADERS (PT)

Currently seeking group leaders for the START after school program. Applicant must have capacity to engage and interact with children in a nurturing manner in a licensed school age child care program. Must exhibit desire to work as part of a team. Would assist the site director in the facilitation of the START after school program and be responsible for their assigned group; assisting students with homework and other planned activities. Hours are Monday through Friday 2:30 - 5:30 pm.

Applicant must have a high school diploma and ONE of the following: 600 hours working in a supervised child care program or 3 credits in elementary education, human growth and development, recreation, behavior management or early childhood education or documentation as a Certified Coach. Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus.

Salary range is $9.00 - $10.50 per hour.

Exercise Science or related degree or nationally recognized certification such as ACE, ACSM, CSCS, or AFFA required.

GROUP EXERCISE/YOGA INSTRUCTORS (PT)

Currently seeking certified group exercise instructors to teach cycling on Wednesday mornings from 8:30 to 9:30 am and Yoga instructors for Monday afternoons from 4:00 to 5:00 pm. Group Exercise and Yoga instructors at the Y will lead classes for all ability levels, while demonstrating the Y values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Must have nationally recognized group exercise certification or YMCA group exercise certification and prior experience leading groups of diverse levels in a safe and appropriate exercise. CPR certification preferred.

Salary range: $12 to $20 per class depending on certification level and experience.

GYMNASTICS INSTRUCTOR (PT)

Seeking energetic and enthusiastic individual to work with preschool, progressive and competitive gymnastics classes from ages 6 months to adult. Will be developing relationships with members, staff and students. Flexibility is required as days and times of instruction will vary.

Requirements include a minimum of three years or more coaching preschool and progressive gymnastics. Some competitive women's gymnastics experience is helpful. Familiarity with compulsory and optional gymnastics coaching, as well as knowledge in recreational and preschool gymnastics is desired.

Salary range: $10 to $13/hr

ASSISTANT SWIM COACH (PT)

Seeking an energetic and positive individual who enjoys working with swimmers ages 6-18 years old of varying abilities. Will provide a safe and fun environment along with structure and leadership for swimmers. Must be able to provide corrective feedback and positive reinforcement to all swimmers.

Requirements: Available Monday-Friday from 4:00 - 7:30 pm and some weekends. Hours will vary within that time frame; 5 years of competitive swimming experience or coaching experience; have or be willing to obtain within 60 days both CPR and First Aid certification; Lifeguarding or safety training for swim coaches, Foundation of Competitive Swimming 101, YMCA Principles of competitive swimming and diving.

Salary range is $9.00 - $10.00/hr depending on experience.

Seeking experienced personal trainer at the YMCA of the Seacoast for off-site programming at our Work at Wellness Corporate locations. Candidate under the guidance and supervision of the Healthy Living Director is responsible for providing individual and custom wellness plans for members who participate in personal training programming. They are also responsible for leading the client through every aspect of each session. The goal in fitness is to assist members in making healthy lifestyle changes and to build self-esteem. The role of the Personal Trainer is to assist members through this process by providing individual and specific attention, support and motivation. The candidate should be comfortable in advising personal training in the appropriate situation wihtout being too aggressive.

Personal training and CPR/AED certification required.

Hours are Tuesday and Thursday 8:30 am - 5:30 pm, other hours TBD.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our teaching team at the Child Development Center of the YMCA of Strafford County. Your role will including leading the facilitation of developmentally appropriate educational experiences within our Preschool. Must have experience and a passion for teaching children ages 6 weeks - 5 years. Promising candidates for this position will model and reinforce our character traits, caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in addition to the ability to nurture and grow young children while engaging families on a daily basis here at our center.

Must meet state of NH licensing requirements for an Associate Teacher by NH State Licensing which include, a high school diploma, and contain 9 early childhood credits, with at least one in child and growth development from an accredited college, or have a minimum of 1500 hours of experience working with children in a licensed child care program, public or private school. A college degree is not required for this position.

Salary range is $8.00 - $10.00 per hour.
