Meet the Team

Harold J. Jordan
President/CEO

Hal grew up in Lynnfield, Massachusetts and upon graduation from high school attended the University of Maine–Orono where he competed in both track and football. He graduated in 1975 with a degree in physical education and began his career at the Waterville Area YMCA in 1975 as the fitness director. After two years, he went back to UMO to get his masters degree in education with a concentration in exercise physiology and continued on as the associate director of the Human Performance Center where he taught undergraduate classes and conducted research on the effects of exercise and training on endurance athletes, publishing numerous papers in the field.

In 1984 Hal went back to YMCA work as the executive director of the Bangor Maine YMCA and then in 1989 as president of the Manchester YMCA. Under his leadership, the YMCA of Greater Manchester has opened four new branches and now serves more than 25,000 citizens in more than 20 communities in southern New Hampshire.

Hal has received numerous awards from the YMCA for excellence in budget management, excellence in endowment development, and numerous program service awards.

Janis Clark
Vice President of Finance

Janis is the vice president of finance for the YMCA of Greater Manchester where she oversees finance, human resources and IT. In her 25 years, she has managed the business office while the Y has grown from a single branch with revenues of $1 million to six branches with revenues of $10 million.

Prior to the Y, Janis worked for Newton & DiBenedetto, a CPA firm for two years and for the Merrimack County purchasing department. She received her bachelor's degree in management advisory services from New Hampshire College (now Southern NH University).

Leslee Stewart
Vice President of Development

Leslee received her BA in psychology from Bates College and her MBA from the Whittemore School at the University of New Hampshire. Leslee’s career in development, marketing, and public relations spans nearly 30 years, all in Greater Manchester. She has served banks, law firms, colleges and the Y. “Working at the Y provides a wonderful opportunity to utilize my abilities to support youth and families in our community. Knowing that my work makes a difference in the lives of others is very important to me, and the Y’s mission is so important.” Leslee works with staff and volunteers to attain critical funding to provide financial assistance for members, community outreach programs, and capital equipment and improvement needs.

Deb Clark Valentine
Director of Leadership Development & Training

Deb received her bachelor's degree in social service from the University of New Hampshire. She went on to earn her masters in organizational management and leadership at Springfield College. Deb has served the Y professionally in various positions for more than 30 years. Before coming to Manchester, she served as the North Country YMCA executive director, New Hampshire YMCA program services director, Concord Family YMCA senior program director, and the NH state director for YMCA Youth & Government (a role she still holds). Throughout her career, Deb has served in national Y-USA roles such as field coordinator for teen leadership, program associate for the East Field, national facilitator for Activate America, and as faculty/trainer for various leadership modules. She also served as president of the national AYP program section receiving the national AYP AG Knebel Program Award which recognized her distinguished leadership, service and contribution to the field of YMCA program.

Rhonda Goley
Director of Data Management

Rhonda is the director of data management for the YMCA of Greater Manchester where she oversees all back-end functions of the membership, program, child care, day camp and overnight camp areas. These functions include reporting, billing, financial assistance, accounts receivable, registration, membership updates/audits, program setups and system maintenance.

With a team of dedicated professionals, Rhonda ensures that all data within our system is accurate and up to date. Rhonda is the key person for any reporting needs within the organization. She can create a report or graph for just about anything!

Rhonda graduated from New Hampshire College (now Southern NH University) with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. She has been working with the Y for 3 years and previously worked as a senior data analyst in both the banking and healthcare industries.

Daniel Norris
Information Technology Manager

Daniel most recently studied computer information systems at Boston University and began working for the Y soon after graduation. His willingness to take on any task, tenacity to resolve complex issues and management skills have made him a one man technology task force.

He is always willing to provide assistance and does so with a smile and an unmistakable sense of humor. He previously worked as an assistant manager and regional trainer for an international printing company. While not working he is most likely found answering the call of nature through hiking, biking, photography, and other endeavors.
